Leaving the Bubble

Art at the Norton Simon This free show is showing a collection of Warne Thiebaud’s work entitled “Sweets & Treats.” Thiebaud is a Pop icon from the 1960s who was known for his conceptual pieces. Creating art to counter the famous Walter Benjamin article “Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction,” Thiebaud tries to bring the “aura” back to art copies.
