Hello from your Tiernan Field House Peer Health Educators! We are so excited to have a column in The Scripps Voice this semester. We will be using this space as an opportunity to discuss the health topics that are important to you.
The Peer Health Educators are the student leaders of the Health and Wellness program at the Tiernan Field House. We are a team of five students who work closely with professional staff at TFH to address health-related topics and issues at Scripps.
As a team, we plan events and distribute information on topics such as body positivity, sexual health, mental health, nutrition and physical activity, alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
Some of our events last year included breastcasting to promote body positivity, a sexual health workshop with representatives from the Pleasure Chest, nutrition and cooking workshops, Free Condom Fridays and social media campaigns.
This year we hope to bring back popular events, as well as plan several new events. Please keep your eye out for our programs soon! In addition, we would love to partner with the organizations you are involved in.
For more information on TFH programs and services, visit our website at inside.scrippscollege.edu/fieldhouse and like us on Facebook. We look forward to serving you this year!
Last year was our first year as a program and we are still growing and changing to try and best serve the Scripps community. We would appreciate any questions, comments, or ideas you have. FMI: email@example.com
